should have your furnace checked once a year because a dirty
furnace can cost you approximately 20% or higher on your utility
bill! |

require the temperature outside to be 70 degrees for 3
days before you can check my air conditioner or cooling
equipment? |

If
the temperature has not been 70 degrees for 3 days, the oil in
the compressor is too thick. When the temperature outside has been
70 degrees for 3 days, we know that the oil should be at the
correct consistency. |

How long will I
be out of service during a "Scheduled Heating or
Cooling Maintenance
Call"? |

Your cooling
or heating service
should only be interrupted for approximately 1 hour. |

When is the
best time to replace my air conditioning or heating equipment? |

There is not
a best time ~ If your equipment is possibly old and has not had regular
maintenance and you have had to have many service calls . .
. Maybe you have noticed that your equipment cycles on and
off more than it used to do . . . If it is difficult to
regulate the temperature and keep it at a comfortable level . .
. If you have seen a substancial increase in your utility
bills and it is not due to a price increase by the utility
company . . . Now just might be the time to replace your
air conditioning or heating equipment. |

What does SEER
mean? |
|
The "Seasonal
Energy Efficiency Ratio" of equipment measures the cooling
efficiency of your air conditioning system. The
higher your SEER number is, this means the system more efficient
converting electricity into cooling power.
The SEER for your
new system should be at least 10, preferably 12 or higher. Out
trained technicians at Sam's Comfort Center, Inc. can tell you
the SEER of new equipment, or you can look for an energy label
on the equipment. |
